In the upcoming Iranian year (starts March 20), new national ID cards will be issued for 20 million people across the country. Finger prints of the individuals will be recorded, said Mahmoud Rashidifard, deputy head of the National Organization for Civil Registration in provincial affairs. The chance of frauds will be reduced in the new cards, he added. The existing national ID cards are valid until the end of the next calendar year (March 20, 2016).
