The new police chief, General Hossein Ashtari was inaugurated on Saturday at a ceremony. High ranking officials, including the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, General Hassan Firuzabadi, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, chairman of the Majlis foreign policy committee, Allaedin Boroojerdi, and former police chief, General Esmail Ahmadi Moghaddam were present. Moghaddam’s services during his ten-year command were hailed.
