The membership of the vice-president for women and family affairs in the Supreme Council of Health and Food Security has been approved by the council of ministers.
The objective is to improve gender balance in important positions and to enhance women’s role and participation in decision-making, IRNA quoted Shahindokht Molaverdi, vice president for women and family affairs, as saying. Earlier this year, the vice-president also became a member of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, on the orders of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
