Homeless women are rounded up and sent to shelters every night, and “90% of the women have been organized so far” said welfare deputy at Tehran Municipality Farzad Hooshyar. Since most of the women go back to living on the streets after recovery, the municipality is looking for ways to build makeshift shelters in passageways so they won’t remain without a shelter. He also said a comprehensive plan to organize beggars is in the making, ISNA reported.
