A Richter 5.2 magnitude earthquake jolted Faryab region located in southern part of Kerman Province early Friday. The provincial Seismological center affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 2:24 am local time, Alef News Agency reported. There are no reports on the possible number of casualties or damage to property. Kerman with 18 active faultlines is prone to frequent earthquakes, many of which have been devastating.
