The World Health Organization (WHO) says the Saudi government must take preventive measures to control the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV).

A team of experts from the WHO, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and Institute Pasteur, France concluded a mission to Saudi Arabia to assess the current situation of the disease, IRNA reported. Members of the joint mission held discussions with high-level representatives from the Saudi ministry of health, visited the command and control center that has been leading all activities related to the control of MERS, and toured the emergency and isolation facilities at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital.
