The Medical Emergencies Unit of the health ministry will be on alert during the Nowruz holidays (starting March 21) in case of contingency. Mohammad Sarvar, deputy head of the unit said 2087 ambulance stations are operating across the country, 1276 of which are deployed on the roads. He added that 18,000 healthcare providers will also be on duty in emergency rooms in hospitals, ISNA reported. This comes after the health minister issued an order banning all medical staff from taking leave unless a colleague can fill in their place.
