Fig Health Benefits

Fig is rich in magnesium, potassium, calcium and phosphorus. It is effective in treating headache, dental pain, nausea, fever, gout, earache, heartburn, stomach pain and respiratory diseases, said Ali Hoseini, traditional medicine specialist.
Fig increases body perspiration. It is also diuretic, so reduces body temperature. Fig has no sodium, cholesterol and fat but contains high amount of potassium, therefore it can fight hypertension, Salamat news reported.
 It is recommended for people with high cholesterol and uric acid. The fruit is also effective in relieving constipation.
