Taxi drivers who overcharge will be initially fined and if they repeat the offense, their permits will be seized. The deputy head of Tehran Taxi Company Mehdi Esmail Beigi said “taxi drivers should abide by the regulated fares and if there are any complaints of overcharging by customers, they will be reported to the disciplinary committee of the taxi company,” he said, ISNA reports.
