Registration of vehicles will henceforth be conducted online and thus the need to go to the vehicle registration centers will be done away with, Traffic Police Chief Brigadier General Eskandar Momeni said. In the current year (ends March 20), over one million vehicles were registered. The ban on registration of Scania buses is still in place until the safety concerns are adequately addressed, he said, adding that the registration of pick-up Paykans will also stop from next year, ISNA reported. Elsewhere in his remarks Eskandari spoke about the drop in road fatalities, saying there were 1013 fewer deaths from road accidents marking a 6% decline.
