Taxi drivers who have failed to upgrade their licenses to ‘’smart cards” will be confronted by the police.
The Head of Tehran Taxi Company Meysam Mozaffar said while taxi drivers had been told to change their old licenses for new ones since the onset of the current year (ends March 20), less than 10% of the cab drivers had complied with the directive. The blitz will start from February 20 and drivers lacking ‘smart licenses’ will first be fined and in the next step “their fuel ration will be cut off,” reports ISNA.
