Peel Apples Before Eating

The health of fruits is difficult to determine due to the lack of well-equipped laboratories.  However, apples should be peeled before the fruit is eaten, “since the peel is likely to contain pesticide residue,” Health Minister Seyyed Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi was quoted as saying by Alef News.

In addition to apples, most fruits with hard seeds are likely to contain pesticide residue in the peel. But vegetables like broccoli, brussels, sprouts, cauliflower and cabbage are usually free of pesticides as the latter don’t have much effect on them; therefore the quantity used is less.
