Members of the Tehran City Council in a recent meeting ratified an amendment bill to collect toll to maintain and expand the city’s green spaces. According to the ratification, the fine for illegal tree felling is also increased. Accordingly, “the fine for each centimeter of a felled tree with a diameter of more than 100 cm is $1700,” Alef News Agency reported.
