The police emergency SMS number 110110 was inaugurated at a ceremony on Wednesday in the presence of Tehran Police Chief Hossein Sajedinia. With its launching, “even deaf people can text the SMS number to the police to report a crime or incident,” Alef News Agency reported. The purpose of the new system is to improve police communication with the people.
