Extra-high constructions on Vali-e-Asr Avenue in Tehran are hampering the plan to plant 2,000 saplings along the historic street. Ahmad Masjedjamei, a senior Tehran City Council member said the constructions are also ruining the landmark and memorable features of the street. He suggested the saplings be planted in areas covered by waterways, ISNA reported. While it was initially decided to bring the saplings from ‘Kan’ district in western Tehran, Masjedjamei said they are now transported from Isfahan.
