Iran has abundant capacities and potentials which can be used to expand international tourism ties, Fars News quoted Swiss Ambassador to Tehran Giulio Haas as saying.

Haas who visited different provinces said, “Iran is a great country and there are hidden capacities in each of its provinces.” He also referred to the richness of its culture and architecture.

“Switzerland supports Tehran and tries to help settle its disputes with the West,” he said, and advocated Iran’s policies in international relations and guaranteed that “my country will continue supporting Iran until the existing concerns about nuclear activities of the country are resolved.”

He announced the upcoming visit by Iranian officials to Switzerland, and said, “We will do our utmost to expand relations between Switzerland and Iran.”

“Iran has a huge potential for developing the tourism industry and Swiss tourists are keen to visit Iran’s historic and cultural attractions,” he said.

Regretting the decline in trade between the two countries from $3 billion three years ago to $500 million this year, he hoped that trade would witness remarkable growth once the nuclear talks bear fruit. Haas also described Iran “as a major, beautiful and influential country in the world”.
