Fire inflicted great loss on Ashuradeh, the only Persian island in the Caspian Sea. Some 100 hectares of grasslands and woods on the island were burned down on Tuesday. Raspberries, wild bushes, and sour pomegranates comprise the flora of the island. Fauna includes jackal, fox, hare, pheasant, partridge, and gull.
