Based on a new memorandum of understanding signed between Honar (Art in Persian) Credit Fund and the National Travel Card Company, inexpensive travel facilities will be provided for members of the fund.
"The purpose of the MoU is to provide holiday packages at a reasonable price for members of Honar Credit Fund and boost domestic tourism," said Seyyed Hossein Seyyedzadeh, executive manager of the fund, IRNA reported.
The contract is to come into effect on Sept. 16 and will be valid for a year. More than 60 tourist facilities in Iran's popular destinations will offer discounts for members. "Whether this MoU will be extended depends on the consent of both parties involved," Seyyedzadeh said.
Founded in 2004, Honar Credit Fund is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established to safeguard the rights of artists, writers and journalists, and help them with issues such as job security, retirement, insurance and getting loans.
The travel card scheme (Safar Kart in Persian) was launched nine years ago for financially easing domestic travel to government employees and retirees. It is managed by Iran Touring and Tourism Investment Company.
