Cooperation between Turkish Airlines and the Kurdistan provincial office of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) was emphasized by Ali Ehteshami Rad, the airline’s senior representative in Iran in a meeting with Rasoul Eshtoudan, the Kurdish ICHHTO director general. “A series of package tours encompassing several Iranian provinces are among the airline’s chief priorities” said Ehteshami Rad, with European tours to Kurdistan included on the agenda. The Kurdish official highlighted the untapped potential of the province, pointing to its many unique cultural and historical touristic attractions, which comprise the major tourism areas including historical, rustic, eco, and medical tourism.
