Until the end of the current calendar year (March 20, 2015) no hunting license will be issued for quadrupeds of Qom Province, Mehr News quoted director general of provincial Department of Environment (DoE) Mahmud Ali Rokni as saying. This is because hunting licenses are issued only when there is a surplus of particular types of animals and Qom has no such luxury. Rokni said that for fishing and bird-hunting, licenses will continue to be issued. Last year, 400 licenses were granted for bird-hunting and 42 licenses for fishing, Rokni added.
