Kish airline will restart its flights to Muscat from its base in Kish Island soon.

Kish Airlines has been granted a license by Oman’s civil aviation authority to launch direct flights between Bandar Abbas and the Omani capital of Muscat.

According to a statement by the Oman Public Authority for Civil Aviation, the airline was given the green light on August 3 and weekly flights are set to begin on Monday, Muscat Daily reported.

Muscat Daily had broken the story on July 31 about Kish Airlines expecting to start Muscat-Bandar Abbas service anytime in August.

The airline will also restart its flights to Muscat from its base in Kish Island soon.

An unnamed official of Kish Airlines at its UAE office had told Muscat Daily last month that the airline was negotiating the timing slot for the Bandar Abbas flight with the Omani authorities.

“Also, we will be restarting service between Muscat and Kish Island from August as well.”

The official added that the weekly flight was suspended earlier in July but will soon restart.

The Iranian airline currently flies one weekly flight each from Shiraz and Chabahar to Muscat International Airport. The flights run on every Friday.  Kish Island was first connected with Muscat by direct Kish Airlines flight in late 2015, while Shiraz-Chabahahr routes have been in operation for just over a year.
