A four-star hotel in Kish was scheduled for inauguration on Tuesday, which would increase the number of hotels on the popular Persian Gulf island to 48. “With 160 rooms and 460 beds, the hotel’s opening will contribute to tourism in Kish,” Khosro Iranpour, a senior official at Iranian Hoteliers’ Society, told Mehr News Agency. He added that two more establishments will open soon. Officials claim Iran’s coastal regions have the potential of attracting three million foreign visitors a year. Due to its free trade zone status, Kish is touted as a consumer’s paradise, with numerous malls, shopping centers, tourist attractions and resort hotels.
