The call for entries is now open for the 2nd biennial competition of cave photography, according to the website of speleophoto.ir. The biennial has been organized by The “Iranian Cavers and Speleologists Association” (ICSA) (Speleology being the scientific study of caves) under the auspices of the Iranian Department of Environment (DoE), Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), Iranian Cultural Heritage Photographers Association and the National Iranian Photographers’ Society. To protect and preserve the caves of the country, the event tries introduce their unique wonders and thus increase public awareness and appreciation for the natural sights. Mohammad-Ebrahim Safi, Namvar Abbasian, Nasser Mizbani, Behzad Torkizadeh and Philippe Crochet are among the jurors of the contest. January 5 is the submission deadline for the photographs.
