Museum entry fees will not be increased this year, the director for museum affairs at Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization said. "We have not received instructions to hike the fees this year," Mohammad Reza Kargar also told ISNA.

"So far, we have no plans to increase the fees." Over the past five years, museum entry fees were increased three times, but they have remained unchanged since July 2016.

Museums and heritage sites managed by ICHHTO are classified based on their popularity and historical and cultural value.

Top sites and museums charge entry fees of 30,000 rials ($0.80) to local visitors and 200,000 rials ($5.50) to foreign tourists.

Grade II properties charge domestic and international visitors 25,000 rials ($0.70) and 150,000 rials ($4.00) respectively, while Grade III establishments command the lowest fees: 20,000 rials ($0.50) for locals and 80,000 rials ($2.00) for foreigners.
