37,000 Visited Tehran Museums on May 18

The museums of Tehran Province received over 37,000 Iranian and foreign visitors on World Museum Day (May 18) when free entry was offered.

The Sa'adabad Palace Complex topped the list with around 11,000 visitors. Niavaran and Golestan palaces ranked second and third with 8,800 and 7,200 visitors respectively.

Iran's National Museum was also visited by about 5,400 people on the day, the travel news website Donyayesafar reported.

Besides the four places managed by the General Museums Office of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, data include visitors to several museums managed by Tehran's ICHHTO office such as the museums of Carpet, Reza Abbasi and Abgineh.
