The Revitalization and Utilization Fund for Historical Places (known by its Persian acronym Saabta) will publish an investment package with detailed information on funding the restoration of 22 historical sites this week. It will be published in the state-run Persian daily Iran sometime this week. For information in English, those interested have to contact the organization. More information is available on their official website (saabta.ir). To restore ancient buildings and make them profitable, Saabta initiated a plan last year to cede historical buildings to the private sector as long as they are repurposed into traditional-style lodging places, the Persian daily Donya-e-Eqtesad reported. The target is to cede about 100 buildings to the private sector for restoration every year, which means 1,084 buildings will be ready for use by the end of the 2025 Vision Plan.
