A regional workshop on Tourism Statistics and Tourism Satellite Accounts opened Tuesday at the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC)Headquarters in Ankara, Turkey, as reported by sesric.org. The 3-day event will be attended by the experts of the National Statistics Offices, relevant Tourism Authorities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries and international agencies. The workshop will focus on tourism statistics, with emphasis on supply and demand, tourism satellite accounts, tourism related businesses, and employment in the tourism sector. The workshop is organized by the SESRIC in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) The workshop will be organized within the framework of the 2013-SESRIC-0111 Project which is among the successful final projects selected for the Project Cycle Management (PCM) Program Funding of the OIC Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC).
