More than half a decade after its announcement, Tehran’s first-ever suspended bridge in Nahj-ol-Balagheh Park will be ready for use during the Norouz (Iranian New Year) holidays (March 21-April 2), the District 2 mayor said. “This will be our New Year present to the residents of Tehran,” Azizollah Nazari was also quoted as saying by ISNA. Nazari did not say why the city’s “present” to Tehranis took almost six years to build. The bridge, whose construction began in 2011, measures 250 meters in length and is 70 meters above ground.
