All museums managed by Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization will charge no admission fee on February 9 to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, according to an official at ICHHTO. The anniversary is on Feb. 10 (Friday), but because "we expect a large turnout of people on the streets to join the rally, it was decided to waive admissions fees for Thursday," Mohammad Reza Kargar, the organization's director for museum affairs, also told ISNA. However, the offer is only valid for Iranians and foreign tourists traveling independently. "International travelers visiting Iran as part of an organized tour will have to pay the entry fee," he said.
