Tehran Municipality’s Tourism Headquarters will organize tours of the city to mark the Islamic Revolution’s anniversary (Feb. 1-11).
The celebration of the Islamic Revolution commemorates the period from the return of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, to the country until the victory of the revolution in 1979.
The half-day tours are open to the public and will include visits to places with linked with the Islamic Revolution via four routes. The first route will cover Alavi and Refah schools, Shahid Rajaei Museum, Baharestan Square, Majlis Museum and Museum of the Qasr Prison.
The second route will include visits to the tombs of martyrs and the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, the travel news website Safar reported.
The third route tour the Jamaran Hosseiniyeh where Imam Khomeini delivered his momentous sermons and the former US embassy, while the final route will take visitors to Ebrat and Science & Technology museums.
“The main feature of these tours is the presence of certified tour guides who not only have knowledge of the historical sites, but are well-versed in the timeline of events that led to the revolution,” said Farzad Houshyar, the head of Tourism Headquarters.
The tours are offered from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 every day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The services offer transport, snacks, specialized tour guide and insurance.
The plan will offer tourists a unique experience, as participants get to see venues that witnessed the historic events connected with the Islamic Revolution.
