Hotels in the Middle East reported mixed November 2016 results, while hotels in Africa posted positive results in the three key performance metrics, according to data from STR, a leading hotel data provider based in the US with offices across three continents. Compared with November 2015, the Middle East recorded a 3.1% increase in occupancy to 71.3%. However, a 7.7% drop in average daily rate to $182.60 pulled revenue per available room down 4.8% to $130.27, Traveldailynews.com reported. Africa experienced a 1.2% increase in occupancy to 59.9%. That coupled with an 18.6% spike in ADR to $118.59 pushed RevPAR up 20.0% to $71.01.
