Explorations near Palangan village in Kamyaran county, Kurdistan Province resulted in discovery of a few historical sites, Cultural Heritage News Agency quoted archaeologist Leyli Niakan as saying.
Dating back to the early years of Islam, the sites include 35 settings such as villages, temporary residences, rock shelters, graveyards, and water basins.
So far, some 1,234 historical monuments have been identified in Kurdistan; of this figure 500 monuments are registered on the national heritage list. But, as is known, there are many ancient facts yet to be dug out of this mysterious piece of earth.
