The lush northern province of Gilan hosted 23 million domestic tourists between June 21 and September 21, an increase of 51.11% compared with the same period of last year, said the head of the provincial office of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization. “The popular province has 87 hotels, 23 hotel apartments, 47 inns, 233 roadside diners and cafes, and 53 travel agencies, all offering services to travelers,” Reza Alizadeh was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
