Most of the country’s international students are from Iraq and Syria studying at universities of Tehran, Amir Kabir, Ferdowsi, Beheshti, and Imam Khomeini, Mehr News quoted director general of Foreign Students Affairs Organization Samad Haj-Jabbari.
Previously, Afghans comprised the majority of foreign students in Iran, while currently, due to regional turmoil and mutual agreements, the number of Iraqi and Syrian students is increasing in the universities.
A work-group has been convened to attract and admit the foreign students. The group meets once a month and schedules the admission of foreign students, Haj-Jabbari added.
