Iran has sought permission from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority to allow Taban Airlines to operate flights between the neighboring countries. Based on a report that appeared online Thursday on the website of the Pakistani English daily The News International, sources close to PCAA have confirmed the news. Representatives of the airline could not be reached for comment by the Financial Tribune because Friday is the weekend. Iranian flag carrier Iran Air already operates direct flights between Tehran and Islamabad. Taban Airlines is an airline headquartered in Tehran with its main operational base in Mashhad. It operates international, domestic and charter routes as a scheduled carrier.
