Birds have started migrating to the Central Province waterlands, IRNA reported. Every year, with gradual drop in autumn temperatures, the Central Province welcomes more than a hundred species of migrating birds, arriving in small and large flocks. So far, an estimated 50,000 birds from seven species have settled in the wetlands of Miqan desert, 15 km from Arak in Central Province, with many more still on their way, announced Amir Ansari, provincial head of the Department of Environment (DoE). The official added that a popular activity for bird watching tours at this time would be watching cranes flying collectively to the Miqan wetlands.
