An “emotional” woman who tried to open the door of a Jetstar plane while it was in the air has been arrested in Melbourne. The female passenger, travelling on an inbound Airbus A320, was arrested when it touched down at Avalon Airport, Victoria late on Monday, 9news.com.au reported. The plane was descending when a woman in an “emotional state” approached the front door of the aircraft, a Jetstar spokeswoman said. Cabin crew intervened and the passenger was cooperatively re-seated, the spokeswoman told ninemsn. She declined to confirm how many passengers were on board the flight, however an A320 can hold a maximum of 180 people. At no stage would the passenger be able to open the door in flight, the Jetstar spokeswoman said. The passenger was taken by police to hospital for assessment.
