Eram and Nakhl-e-Hengam hotels were inaugurated on Qeshm Island by Masoud Soltanifar, the head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, in a ceremony held on Thursday. Eram is a four-star, $4.3-million (150 billion rials) hotel which includes 250 beds, while Nakhl-e-Hengam is a two-star lodging facility that was constructed with a million dollars (35 billion rials), IRNA reported. Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iran, which like the rest of the country suffers from underdeveloped infrastructure, including a shortage of quality hotels. There are about eight hotel projects currently underway on the resort island.
