A total of 19,500 chartered flights have been scheduled for the Nowruz holiday season; a 14% rise compared to the same period (March 15-April 13) last year, according to the Iran Civil Aviation Organization’s public relations officer, Reza Jafarzadeh. Officially, the holiday lasts two weeks, from March 20 to April 2. “Airlines will be strictly monitored during this period and will be evaluated based on customer satisfaction,” Jafarzadeh was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency. Only 6,000 flights, or 31%, are international flights, he added. Airlines are still applying for charter permits during this period.
