Slovenian companies have expressed readiness to invest in tourism development projects in Iran, specifically hotel projects. “Slovenia is a leading European country with regard to building wooden houses and tourist resorts, and Slovenian firms have so far built luxury wooden cabins and holiday homes in 17 countries, including several European states,” Slovenia’s Minister of Economy and Technical Development Zdravko Pocivalsek was quoted as saying by the website of Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. He added that his country is so advanced in terms of constructing wooden buildings that Slovenian contractors frequently build multi-storey structures made entirely of wood. Commending Iran’s advances in the construction industry, Pocivalsek said the two countries can collaborate to mass produce multi-storey wooden hotels, which are both ecofriendly and attractive.
