These days, Mazandaran has become a destination of choice for Arab tourists. The lush green vegetation and the province’s dense forest, stunning sea and good weather, attracts millions of local and international tourists each year. This province, alongside its natural beauty, has enormous economic opportunities for investment, some of which were visited by a group of delegates from Kuwait and Oman recently, reported IRNA quoting Delavar Bozorgnia, provincial head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO). “Over the past seven months, 250,000 tourists mostly from Arab states around the Persian Gulf such as Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait visited the province”, announced Bozorgnia, “The number is on the rise,” he added. Mehran Hasani, head of the organization, however believes the real number of tourists to be definitely more than the official statistics. There are approximately 200 hotels and apartment hotels within the province. There are also more than 20 hotels, all between a three and stars rating, under construction, that will add to the current capacity, Hasani added.
