Tehran Municipality says it has enhanced its capacity to host bigger numbers of tourists, Farzad Hoshyar Parsian, head of the Welfare, Social Services and Participation Organization at the TM, said Wednesday.
“Measures have been taken to renovate historical buildings and ancient monuments, distribute Tehran travel maps and identify 20 potential tourist sites such as the Grand Bazaar as well as the historical districts of Si-e-Tir and Oudlajan as two historic neighborhoods in the capital,” the official was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency.
The municipality plans to buy more tour buses to meet the growing transport needs of incoming tours. So far two major foreign bus companies, namely The Big Bus and Hop-On Hop-Off, have submitted bids, Hoshyar said.
