A German private sector company is set to co-operate in a health tourism project in the western province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, IRNA reported.

The construction of a health complex is aimed at catering to the health tourism market, Malek-Mohammad Qorbanpur, deputy governor general for executive affairs and planning, said on Tuesday.

The complex will encompass several health units as well as a private hospital situated in a touristic area near the Zayanderud River.

Once operational, this project can serve local health tourists as well as any from Middle Eastern and the Persian Gulf states.

The preliminary procedures for a memorandum of understanding have been taken. The German side is examining the additional requirements, and the construction will become operational next year, once all the arrangements are ratified between the experts of the two countries.

With 15 qualified touristic areas, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province possesses a high capacity for tourism industry.

A comprehensive touristic program has been under consideration for Chaharmahal and Bakhtiar, since President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to the province where he emphasized on the unique potentials of the region to become a hub of tourism.
