Italy to Help Upgrade Museums

Museums at Pasargadae and Persepolis in Fars Province will be revamped and upgraded in cooperation with Italian experts. Mohammad Hassan Talebian, the cultural heritage deputy at Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, made the statement on Wednesday, IRNA reported. A preliminary agreement on the cooperation was made when an Italian delegation led by Dario Franceschini, minister of cultural heritage and activities and tourism, visited the two world heritage sites. Potential collaboration on research, conservation and restoration projects was also discussed. Based on a verbal agreement between Franceschini and ICHHTO chief, Masoud Soltanifar, a draft agreement will be prepared and signed later when President Hassan Rouhani travels to Rome to meet his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella.
