Ecotourism Standards Compiled

Ecotourism standards have been compiled by the incumbent government, tourism deputy of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Morteza Rahmani Movahed said in a meeting held in Tehran on Thursday to discuss development of tourism of Shahroud in Semnan Province. In preparing the ecotourism standards, local capacities and potentials of each region were taken into account. Some local guesthouses are planned to become eco-lodges, and for this purpose, Job Creation Fund will grant applicants loans of 1 billion rials with a 4% interest rate, IRNA quoted Movahed as saying. In each country, tourism contributes to sustainable development, rise in production rate and national wealth. The meeting for development of Shahroud’s tourism was held in the presence of lawmaker Kazem Jalali, Shahroud Governor Seyyed Mohammad Reza Hashemi, other officials and cultural figures.
