The 6th developmental plan for the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization (CHHTO) has been drafted and will be soon delivered to the vice presidency for strategic planning and supervision.
In the draft, the organization’s policies, strategies, and operational goals for 2016-2020 have been delineated; CHTN reported quoting Masoud Soltanifar, head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (CHHTO).
The 150-page plan has been prepared by a group of experts.
ICHHTO had put this plan to further analysis in a convention held last September, in which experts took part.
Tourism has become one of the main pillars in the future 5-year economic development plan, and is one of the top priorities to receive funding from the National Development Fund.
The country is to reach 8 million tourists by the end of the plan in 2020.
