Last year, 4.5 million foreign tourists entered the country, Dolat Information Center (dolat.ir) quoted head of Cultural Heritage Organization Masud Soltanifar as saying. Of this figure, 2.5 million were Muslim tourists traveling mainly from Iraq and Saudi Arabia, with others coming from European countries. Muslims, therefore, comprised 55% of tourists coming to Iran.
