Every day, 10,000 foreign pilgrims arrive in Qom Province via passenger terminals, director general of the provincial Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department, Isa Rezaei, was quoted as saying by IRNA. The official said Qom hosts 20 million Iranians and two million foreign pilgrims every year. Qom is held in high regard by Shia Muslims, as it is home to the shrine of Hazrat Fatemeh Massoumeh (PBUH), the sister of Imam Reza (PBUH), whose shrine is in Mashhad.
