Turkey is ready to increase flights to Iran, Turkish Ambassador to Iran Reza Hakan Takin said in a meeting with Zanjan’s Governor-General Jamshid Ansari. Currently, Turkish Airlines conducts flights to seven Iranian cities. There are 63 flights run by the airlines per week. The company intends to increase the flights to 100, IRNA quoted Takin as saying. According to the diplomat, Iran has not paid enough attention to its tourism industry and Turkey is ready to cooperate with Iran to help boost the country’s tourism. With 41 million foreign tourists in 2014, Turkey ranked as the sixth most popular tourist destination in the world.
