The northern city of Kelardasht in Mazandaran Province is set to host an ethnic festival, according to the head of Kelardasht Chamber of Guilds, Farhad Karimaei. Artisans and cultural activists from provinces known for their handicrafts, such as Mazandaran, Gilan, Lorestan and Kurdestan, will participate in the festival and showcase their crafts, IRNA reported. The festival will open on July 27 and end on August 1. Kelardasht’s Thursday Bazaar will be the venue of the event, which aims to familiarize people with Iran’s diverse traditions and handicrafts. The festival is expected to draw a large number of visitors to Mazandaran, which will help boost the local economy.
